World Mission

Our Church holds world mission evenings on the last Wednesday of every month, with the exceptions of July, August and December .
On these evenings we are informed by visiting speakers from a variety of Christian organisations which seek to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and to demonstrate God's love throughout the world.
Love can be shown in a variety of ways - listening, supporting, caring and sharing in practical, spiritual and emotional ways.
One of our previous pastors (Rev George Reed Bolster) came to Wishaw having served in China with the China Inland Mission -  now known as OMF International.
Another pastor, Rev Colin Mackenzie, was a founder of S.A.M Chernobyl Relief - initially working in partnership with church organisations in Belarus and latterly in eastern Europe supporting vulnerable children and adults.
One of our former members, Dr James Russell Watson,  also served in China  with the Baptist Missionary Society (BMS) - now known as  BMS World Mission. Dr Watson is remembered as a founder of the Yidu Medical School in China (now known as the Weifang Vocational Nursing College) which celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2010.
